Hello Dearest Canopy supporters!
Canopy has been busy!
We kicked off the New Year with an Iraqi feast made by the amazing Al Dobni family! They arrived just a year and a half ago from Baghdad, Iraq. There is nothing more uniting than sharing a meal together, food is really the universal language of love.
We are honored to let you know Canopy was selected as a 2020 grant recipient by the Tortoise Foundation!! We want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone at Tortoise Advisors and to John Heitkemper for nominating Canopy. This grant will be used to support our Amal Fund, a program within Canopy that supports our families whose children would like to participate in extracurricular activities.
Extracurricular activities play a vital role in enhancing the overall academic experience. Our mission with the Claremont Canopy Amal Fund is to ensure that cost is not a prohibiting factor and that all of our Canopy children who are interested can participate in after school activities. ❤️🌎

Our Canopy kids continue to impress us every day! Hassan and Malak Hawa were just recognized for their academic success and overall positive attitudes at their school! Hassan is a 7th grader and his sister is a 4th grader at Pioneer Elementary. Way to go Hassan and Malak! We are so proud of you! 📚❤️😃
We have been busy delivering the care pacakges that the amazing students at Claremont High School donated to Canopy. They bought items of the Canopy household needs wishlist and make packages with handwritten holiday cards! Thank you CHS Helpful Honda club! We appreciate your support! Our mission has been in full force this month. We continue to serve as an ally and an advocate for our families. We stand with our families in both the good times and the times of struggle. We let them know, Ana Huna
