2019 was a year of tremendous growth for Canopy and our hearts burst as we reflect on the support we have received. As we bring 2019 to a close, we want to pause and say how incredibly thankful we are for you, our amazing supporters. Without your generosity, we could not continue the Canopy mission of serving as an ally for our new arrival refugee families.

We are so proud of one of our amazing new arrival Mama's! Hiba does it all, she is a Mom of three adorable little girls, she has a full time job and still found the time to continue her education. Her dedication to finding ways to thrive in America is unmatched and so inspiring. Hiba, this diploma is just the beginning, the future is yours! We adore you!
We were able to catch up with our little friend Faisal and his Mom yesterday. Faisal was very excited to introduce us to his Dad (originally from Iraq) and his two adorable sisters who arrived from Kuwait just last Sunday! After months apart, we are thrilled that this family can be together once again!
We have been spending our holiday season welcoming our newest neighbors! Meet Nahed and her beautiful girls! Nahed and her husband, along with their children and extended family, fled Homs, Syria in 2012. They have been here in Southern California for 3 years. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Canopy family!
Thank you everyone who continues to purchase items off the Canopy Amazon Wish List. Because of your generosity, we were able to welcome this beautiful family with a trunk load of household supplies, toiletries, gift cards and of course some holiday goodies!
We would like to thank the FABULOUS team of students from the Marketing department at Gustavus Adolphus College. They have been working with Canopy this semester for a class project! It was an honor to work with such inspiring young adults and your insight will help us to continue to grow our organization!
And a big thank you to the faculty of Gustavus who also had our founder Christy (a Gustavus alumni) speak to their students about the Canopy mission. We look forward to partnering with you all in the near future as we expand our Canopy to welcome more new arrival families! We also met with the amazing young adults who run the Muslim Student Association at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota! They are an inspiration and we look forward to collaborating in the future with these changemakers!
In 2020 we hope to expand our Canopy even further, to welcome more new neighbors to the table and celebrate diversity. We are all in this together and together we are amazing.
